Staples High School Awards Ceremony - June 5, 2008
Jeramie and Jonathan received a number of awards. Congratulations to them both.
Jeramie received:
- The Gloria Rakovic Award - Given to the student who is able to overcome cultural obstacles, who genuinely appreciates the value of education and seizes opportunities to learn outside of the classroom in order to achieve academic excellence.
- The Eleanor Hermann Service Award for Excellence in Service to Staples Players
- Principal's Award - Given annually to a small number of seniors who in their four years at Staples have demonstrated superb ability to be responsible and contributing members of the Staples community. The candidates are nominated by the faculty and chosen by the Counselors, Assistant Principal and Principal.
Jonathan received:
- Yale Book Award - Presented to a junior who best represents values, scholarship, citizenship and leadership.
- English Department Special Recognition Award - Given to a studenet who demonstrates special diligence and achievement in the areas of literature and language.
- Fairfield University Math and Science Award - Given by the School of Engineering at Fairfield Univ. in partnership with Sikorsky for excellence in Math and Science.
- American Mathematics Competition - for scoring in the top 5% on the American Invitaional Mathematics Exam
