Westport is a beautiful and vibrant coastal town located on the Long Island Sound in Fairfield County, Connecticut, approximately one hour from New York City. With its numerous beaches, parks and public recreation facilities, Westport offers a diversity of cultural and recreational pursuits that include The Westport Playhouse, The Levitt Pavilion, a nature center, expansive library, museums, churches and synagogues, and an array of outdoor activities and seasonal events. What makes Westport truly unique is our 28,000 residents and their passion and commitment to wanting the best for their families.
Westport residents love living here, mainly, because they are attracted to the vibrancy and creative energy of the community, reflecting the diverse mix of people – business executives, corporate leaders, committed volunteers, retirees, professionals, musicians, writers and artists. Nearly everyone in Westport is involved in some aspect of community life – the PTA, a church or synagogue, local politics, athletics, the library, the arts and countless other activities including numerous volunteer organizations. The entire community values education and many residents work with the teachers, students and administrators on leadership councils to further improve the quality of Westport’s excellent public schools.
